The launch of Qik wasn’t just about building a bank; it was about empowering millions to take control of their financial future. Inspired by our CEO’s belief that “the only way to democratize the financial system is by giving people a direct line of access to fulfill their dreams,” this vision guided every decision we made.

The Dominican Republic posed unique challenges—low UX maturity and the need to build something groundbreaking. From day one, we realized this wasn’t just about designing a product; it was a mission to redefine banking for an entire region. My focus was not just on creating interfaces but on establishing a design culture from scratch. I knew we had to innovate on every level.

One of the proudest moments of my leadership was witnessing the team’s transformation. Starting with a small group of three, we grew into a dynamic team of 12. The personal and professional growth I saw in the team members was one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey. Mentoring them, fostering their creativity, and pushing the boundaries of what we could accomplish as a team was as fulfilling as seeing our designs come to life in the market.

Together, we didn’t just launch a bank—we built a movement that set a new benchmark for digital banking in the Dominican Republic.
